The journey to become a parent can be hugely challenging. Whether its IVF; birth trauma; post natal depression or baby health concerns, the path to parenthood and beyond can be tough for some to say the least...

mostly parenting, sometimes battling, always doing my best

Charity has always been a focus of Andy & Lucy’s and following their own experiences, the team behind Kidd & Bear know first-hand how hard it can be. That’s why we feel honoured and passionate to be able to actively and financially support organisations that help families through some of their toughest of times.

Currently raising money to fund the next 11 week course for OPENSPACE, Andy also runs DADS IN MIND across Bath & North East Somerset and is now jointly responsible for starting TALK CLUB BATH encouraging men to talk openly about their battles with mental health.

Open Space Square.jpg

OpenSpace is an Arts based postnatal group for mothers who are struggling to enjoy motherhood. It uses images, pictures and objects as a way of expressing thoughts and feelings and to help explore difficult issues in a sensitive way.

By working creatively in small groups Mum's are able to map out their feelings and experiences in front of them, to see them clearly and work through them in a new way.

Dads In Mind Square.jpg

1 in 10 Dads find their mental health is affected by becoming a parent and so Dads in Mind was created to support Dads in their journey into parenthood.

Whether Dads are struggling with their own mental health or supporting a partner who is struggling, Dads in Mind uses lived experience to offers group and 1-2-1 support to help others navigate their way through this difficult time.

Bluebell Square.jpg

Based in Bristol, Bluebell is a charity providing innovative services to help families manage their emotional wellbeing during pregnancy and after birth.

Providing therapeutic group programmes, group and 1-2-1 support sessions and a safe space for Mum's to seek help Bluebell is also the parent charity to Dads in Mind recognising the importance of supporting the whole family in these difficult times.

TALK CLUB.jpg

Talk Club is a talking and listening club for men. Set up by you and your mates to help keep you mentally fit.

It’s a regular mental kick about. Like using jumpers for goal-posts. But for your brain. It’s not about solving your mates problems. It’s about listening to them. You don’t have to jump in and fix anything. It’s a safe space for you and your mates to say what’s really weighing you down.
